Another local beverage receives traction in the UK
Nine Isles Gin, a product which was conceptualised and registered in St Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG), has made it onto Vogue’s Winter Wish list for 2024 in the United Kingdom (UK).
According to Vogue, Nine Isles Gin is a premium brand that “captures the essence of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines”, and “is crafted with fine botanicals and unique flavour infusions.”
Vogue goes on to say, “each sip delivers the authentic taste of the tropics.”
The gin is the brainchild of three persons, one of them a Vincentian, who spoke to SEARCHLIGHT on Tuesday, November 19, 2024. The entrepreneur, who is not yet ready to go public with his name, said the idea for Nine Isles Gin was born in SVG and the plan is to bring a distillery here to produce the alcoholic drink.
It is produced sustainably in small batches according to the local businessman who described the drink as a premium Caribbean infused gin aiming to bring the taste and essence of the Caribbean to gin lovers around the world.
“Using the finest botanical ingredients, each bottle transports gin lovers to the tropical paradise of St. Vincent and the Grenadines creating a sense of playful holiday bliss in every sip,” the gin’s website states while noting that the product comes in two flavours, “Nine Isles Peach and Lychee” and “Nine Isles Sorrel and Mulberry”.
This is the second time for the year that alcoholic drinks registered in SVG have gained traction in the UK. Rums from this country were a big attraction at the London Rum Festival which ran from October 12 to 14, 2024.
