Man well known to the police shot and killed at Villa

A man who was well known to the police was shot and killed over the weekend at Villa.

Martin “Jahson” James who was deported from the USA more than two decades ago for violent crimes committed, was shot and killed on Saturday night, October 5, 2024 at his home in Villa. He became this country’s 39th homicide for 2024.

Saturday’s shooting was the second gun attack on James, said to be an outspoken 53-year-old who is no stranger to making news headlines.

In November 2017 he told a reporter outside the Calliaqua Magistrate’s Court that there was a “war” underway in St Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG) and two named brothers from Paul’s Avenue were his enemies.

When James mentioned “war” back in 2017 he had just left the courthouse having been jointly charged with Ricardo “Shrek” McFee, for the second time, with the Friday, October 7, 2016, shooting death of 10-month-old Mozari and the attempted murder of the child’s parents, Shelly-Ann Durham, and Moziah ‘Pargy’ Lee, and also the attempted murder of Monty Hillocks. The police have not yet made any statement regarding this latest shooting death.
