Barrouallie and Grammar School top Inter-Secondary Schools Athletics Meet
The Central Leeward Secondary School (Barrouallie Secondary), and the St Vincent Grammar School took top honours in the Inter-Secondary Schools’ Athletics Meet at the Sir Vincent Beache Stadium yesterday, March 30. The Barrouallie Secondary School emerged ahead in the Female Division, amassing 286 points, while the St Vincent Grammar School with a tally of 212 points, won the Male Division.
Going into the final race of the day, the Senior Male 4X400 metres relay, four points separated the two schools. However it was the Grammar School which earned gold in the deciding race, ahead of Union Island Secondary School in second place, and the Troumaca-Ontario Secondary School third. The Barrouallie Secondary School took the fourth spot.
With a tally of 208 points the Barrouallie Secondary School placed second in the Male Division of the Meet, and third was St. Martin’s Secondary School with 170 points. The Petit Bordel Secondary School with 78 points placed fourth, and fifth was the Thomas Saunders Secondary School on 76 points.
The Barrouallie Secondary School dominated the Female Division amassing a total of 286 points to leave the Girls’ High School a distant second on 144 points; the Georgetown Secondary School, third with 140 points; the Thomas Saunders Secondary School in fourth position with 111 points; and fifth was the Troumaca-Ontario Secondary School with 66 points.
Samaya Connell of the Georgetown Secondary School won the Victrix Ludorum title amassing 53 points; while Ajay Delpesche was named the Victor Ludorum with a total of 36 points.
