Sharpes man charged with conspiracy to murder

A resident of Redemption Sharpes was this Tuesday charged in relation to the murder of 25-year-old Collrise ‘Quinn’ Pompey.

Dwayne Stephens was brought before the Serious Offences Court this Tuesday, charged with conspiracy to murder Pompey between the dates February 27 and March 2.

Prosecutor Adolphus Delplesche objected to bail for Stephens, saying that he was of interest in a murder charge. He indicated that forensic work was being carried out, and that a charge of murder may be shortly before the court.

Chief Magistrate Rechanne Browne-Matthias denied bail to Stevens. His bail is set to be reviewed next Tuesday.

Collrise ‘Quinn’ Pompey was shot and killed at around 8:30 last Friday morning, while waiting for public transport near the Redemption Sharpes playing field.

An autopsy was carried out this Monday, which determined that that the bullet went through his left cheek and severed his spine at the base of his neck.
