Body of woman found face down in her bathroom

Days after a video showing a woman dancing naked in a bar started making the rounds on social media, that woman has been found dead.

Twenty-nine-year-old Keisha Thomas of Rockies was found face down in her bathroom on December 26, at the Rockies home she occupied with her boyfriend.

Thomas’s lifeless body was discovered around 6:30 a.m. and she was later pronounced dead on the scene by the district medical officer. A police report said a post mortem examination is expected to be carried out to ascertain the cause of death.

When SEARCHLIGHT visited Rockies on Wednesday, one of Keisha’s neighbours said that Keisha and her boyfriend moved to Rockies a few months ago and none of them are originally from the area.

Another neighbour said that Thomas was known for dancing naked in public when drunk and she and her boyfriend fought a lot.

One of Thomas’s close friends told SEARCHLIGHT that the video with Thomas dancing naked in a bar at Sion Hill to the music of Freezy’s “Split in the Middle” was filmed on Christmas Day, “while [they] were having fun.”

The video shows Thomas, topless and bent over, dancing with her back to the camera. A female voice can be heard in the background shouting “tek off the pants” and Thomas obeys, at which time a female slaps Thomas on her buttocks, as she continues to gyrate.

Two persons then pour beer on Thomas, and as she tries to pull up her pants and underwear, she falls and hits her back.

Thomas’s friend, who prefers to remain anonymous, said that Thomas is known for stripping when she is intoxicated and there are other videos circulating with the deceased woman.

She said that Thomas was in an abusive relationship and she has witnessed many occasions on which she was beaten and even knocked unconscious.

The death is being investigated and police have detained Thomas’s boyfriend as a person of interest.(LC)
