The late Principal of the St.Joseph Convent Marriaqua was in Barbados for the opening of her sister’s business. Sister Pat and Dear had gone to the Grantley Adams International Airport earlier that evening to receive their sister Jacquelyn, when death struck on their way back.

Dear who was driving suffered a fractured left rib and multiple lacerations, while Jacquelyn’s left shoulder was fractured.

Also involved in the accident were Anthony Weekes, who sustained head injuries, Cedric Cumberbatch, Dwayne Cave and his five-year-old son.

“Joyce and Jacquelyn, please do not blame yourselves for the death of your sister. Thank God you are alive,” the Bishop stressed.

Bishop Rivas told the congregation the death of a Christian is a reminder to be vigilant.

Sister Pat was the sister of Dominica’s former Prime Minister, the late Rosie Douglas, and former Opposition Leader, Michael Douglas.
