Trio charged with conspiracy to commit praedial larceny
Three men have been arrested and charged with conspiracy to commit praedial larceny.
They are Kala Henry, a 36-year-old mason, Omario Ottley, a 26-year-old Labourer, both from Mesopotamia and Lynron Prince, a 37-year-old Labourer of Greiggs.
The investigation has revealed that the defendants conspired and agreed among themselves to unlawfully take possession of one black cattle, valued at $5,000 EC. The defendants further agreed to pursue this course of action with the intent to commit the offense of praedial larceny.
The offence was committed in Argyle between July 16 and July 20, 2024.
The trio appeared before the Georgetown Magistrate Court on August 26, 2024, and pleaded not guilty to the charge.
Henry was granted composite bail in the sum of $2,500 EC, with one surety. He was ordered to report to the Mesopotamia Police Station every Monday and Thursday between the hours of 7:00 am. and 6:00 pm.
Ottley and Prince were remanded into custody and bail was denied until September 4, 2024, where bail would be reviewed.
The matter was adjourned and transferred to the Biabou Magistrate Court on October 4, 2024 for trial.
