Fancy farmer on bail for assault

A 46 year old labourer of Fancy was granted bail in the sum of $1,000 when he appeared at the Kingstown Magistrate’s Court on April 29, 2024, where he pleaded not guilty to assault causing bodily harm.

The police said in a release that Eli Bowens,who was arrested and charged on April 25, 2024, is alleged to have assaulted a 53 year old vendor of Arnos Vale by striking him above his right eye with a stone. The incident is said to have occurred in Arnos Vale on April 12, 2024.

Bowens was granted bail with one surety when he appeared in court, and was ordered to have no contact with the complainant. The matter was adjourned to September 17, 2024.
