Fugitive sighted in Paul’s Avenue
Fugitive Joe Bobb has been spotted. The man, who escaped police custody through a small window at the Kingstown Magistrateâs Court{{more}} on Monday, August 29, was photographed by SEARCHLIGHTâs camera, as he was casually walking in the Paulâs Avenue area.
On Monday, Bobb appeared before the Kingstown Magistrateâs Court on robbery and theft charges.
While in court, Bobb asked to use the washroom and was escorted by a police officer to do so.
A well-placed source told SEARCHLIGHT that while in the washroom, the prisoner requested a piece of tissue paper from an officer, who was standing guard. Upon the officerâs return, it is alleged that that Bobb attempted to throw faeces at the officer, who then closed the door to protect himself, leaving the prisoner inside the washroom.
The prisoner then climbed through a small window and escaped, but not before leaving the washroom in a messy state.
Up to press time, no arrest had been made.
He is the second prisoner to have escaped police custody in two weeks, using faeces as a weapon.
