15-year-old on $8,000 bail, placed on curfew
The youngest of the three males who were charged in connection with a foiled robbery attempt at a business house in Villa last month was granted bail on Monday, August 8.{{more}}
The 15-year-old, who was jointly charged with Darron Shallow, 19, Clerk, of Belmont, and Jolarney David, 21, Mechanic, of Hopewell, was granted $8,000 bail with one surety and was released into the custody of his parents.
The boy was ordered to surrender his travel documents and was placed on a 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. curfew, along with reporting conditions at the Calliaqua Police Station.
Shallow and David were denied bail on Monday, but returned to court on Tuesday, when bail was granted.
Shallow, David and the 15-year-old boy were charged jointly for having in their possession a firearm with intent to commit an offence,(2) For having in their possession a firearm without a licence issued under the Firearm Act,(3) For attempting to commit the offence of robbery,(4) For having in their possession one (1) round of 12 gauge shot gun cartridge without a licence issued under the Firearm Act, at Villa on July 23, 2011.
Four masked men turned up at âCheweeâs Chill and Grillâ at Villa at about 3:10 a.m. on July 23, 2011, in an alleged robbery attempt.
Proprietor of the entertainment spot, Truman âCheweeâ Quashie, shot one of the would-be robbers in the head with a .38 special when the gunman brandished a shotgun. The others fled the scene.
