Richardson discharged

After being sentenced to 13 years in jail on a manslaughter charge, Flavia Richardson appealed her matter and was granted a re-trial.{{more}}

However, when the matter was called up for hearing on Thursday, July 28, at the Criminal Assizes, Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP), Colin Williams indicated to the court that he was not going any further with the matter and the case was Nolle Prosequi.

“The matter has been looked at by the office of the DPP and we have come to a decision that we will enter a Nolle Prosequi,” the DPP said.

The Ratho Mill resident was found guilty by a nine-member jury on Monday, February 16, 2009, for causing the death of her common-law husband Winston Williams on March 19, 2007, at their home in Ratho Mill.

Williams succumbed to a stab wound to the left side of his chest following a dispute with the accused.
