According to an online article from the BVIPLATINUMNEWS, Prince, 30, a resident of Virgin Gorda, was granted bail with one surety. He was ordered to stay away from the complainant; surrender his travel documents, and report to the Virgin Gorda Police Station on Tuesdays and Fridays.

Senior Crown Counsel Christilyn Benjamin in outlining the allegations stated that the complainant lives with her grandmother and would usually visit the home of the defendant on weekdays after school until she is picked up by a relative. Prince is married and has a young child.

The article added that Benjamin said in 2010, the minor was at the home of the defendant when a relative told her to comb her hair and the minor asked Prince to assist her. However, as he was sitting behind her, he placed his hands under her skirt and touched her private parts.

The court also heard that in February of this year, he also touched her private parts. However, on that occasion, he pulled down her jean pants. Later that month, he allegedly fondled the minor.

It was also reported that Prince allegedly committed the act two more times in April of this year. Benjamin told the court that on all occasions, the minor resisted, but she never told anyone, due to fear.

The Prosecutor told the court that during April, the minor was at home with her grandmother who was speaking to her about not allowing anyone to touch her. The minor immediately told the grandmother that Prince had been touching her in those areas.

A Preliminary Inquiry into the matter will begin on May 18 in the Virgin Gorda court.
