Resisting arrest lands Lavia 28-days behind bars

Felix Lavia is now into the fifth day of his 28-day prison sentence for resisting the arrest of police constable 328 Colin May on March 20, 2011.{{more}}

Senior Magistrate at the Kingstown Magistrate’s Court Donald Browne handed down the sentence to Lavia when he appeared in court on Monday, March 21.

Lavia, 33, labourer of Kingstown, was also charged with entering the Stephanie Burke building on Grenville Street and stealing a quantity of hair cutting machines and other items valued at $2,640, the property of Solee Richardson of New Montrose. He pleaded not guilty

The matter was adjourned to April 18 2011.
