Vincentians Lemuel Stephens, Mikel Robinson, Rackene Maingot and Trinidadian Mika Abdul Hakim appeared at the Kingstown Magistrate’s Court on February 1, 2011, jointly charged with robbery.

It is alleged that on January 28, 2011, the men, being armed with a guns, robbed Eversley Ralph, of Sion Hill, of one Playstation console, a Psp player, cellular phone and a silver watch, all totalling $2,193.

The charges were laid indictable.

The men were denied bail on the grounds that there has been a spate of robberies throughout the country and that several reports of other robberies have been made to other police stations, in which the men might be suspects.

Just last week, police arrested three young men in connection with a spate of robberies in the Villa area.

Curtis Small, 22, Delano McDonald, 19, and Romal McMaster, 18, were jointly charged with robbing Kamala Greaves, 32, Bartender of Belair, of a quantity of items valued at $2,200 on January 24, 2011, at 10:45 p.m., at Villa. The men were also charged with robbing Kitchen Assistant Dion Lewis of a quantity of items valued at $1,831 at Villa on the same date and time.

The three were also jointly charged with being in possession of a 9mm pistol, one live round of .38 ammunition, and one round of 7.65millimiter ammunition on January 24, about 11:50 p.m.
