Shawn Phillips, 27, Auto Body repair worker; Jabari Charles, 21, Labourer, and Romano Pompey were on Wednesday, February 2, committed to stand trial in the High Court.
At the close of the Preliminary Inquiry on Monday at the Serious Offences Court, Chief Magistrate Sonya Young reserved her decision on the matter until Wednesday.
Young overruled no case submissions from Counsel for the men, Ronald Marks and Jomo Thomas.
Ells, 22, also of Redemption Sharpes, died shortly after 10 p.m. on June 18, 2010, after he was gunned down in the area of the National Broadcasting Corporation building at Richmond Hill, following an altercation with a group of men on Halifax Street, in the area of the Postal Services Corporation building.
In giving her decision, Young said that she gave the matter a lot of thought and considers that there is enough evidence to have the men tried before a judge and jury in the High Court.(KW)
