Mother accused of burning son, 8, with hot iron

A 37-year-old woman of Gibson Corner was remanded in custody after it was alleged that she burned her eight year-old son about his body with a hot iron on Tuesday, January 25.{{more}}

Marva Prince appeared at the Kingstown Magistrates Court on Friday, January 28, charged with causing grievous bodily harm.

It is alleged that a $100 bill went went missing and the child was being blamed for the incident. SEARCHLIGHT also understands that the child was sent to school the same day, after sustaining the burns to his body.

The matter has been transferred to the Family Court.
