Behind bars again
Nearly a year after being set free on a murder charge, Campden Park resident Leslie Ashton is back behind bars.{{more}}
Ashton, 26, labourer, appeared at the Kingstown Magistrateâs Court on Monday, 3 January, and was jointly charged with Romando Andrews, 19, labourer of Peruvian Vale, for entering the dwelling house of Basil Leroy Williams, 57, of Queenâs Drive, and stealing a quantity of electronic equipment valued over $16,000 and a quantity of alcoholic drinks valued over $6000 between November 21, 2010, and December 3, 2010.
Ashton was also charged with dishonestly receiving stolen goods between the aforementioned dates.
Police told SEARCHLIGHT that after being on the run for about three days, Ashton was nabbed in the Sion Hill Bay area.
In December 2009, Ashton was acquitted of the murder of Sean Clouden at San Souci. He was convicted on ammunition possession at that trial and was out on bail pending sentencing in that matter.
Ashton and Andrews will reappear in court on January 10, 2011.
