Craigg, a labourer of Georgetown, pleaded guilty on Tuesday at the Serious Offences Court to having in his possession a double barrel firearm on July 27, 2010.

He also pleaded guilty to possession of 159 grams of cannabis. He was sentenced to six months on that charge. Both sentences will run concurrently.

Craigg was jointly charged with Sheka McBarnett, also of the same address. As a result of Craigg’s guilty pleas, the prosecution withdrew both charges from McBarnett.

Information read out in court stated that police went to Craigg’s home to execute a search warrant. During the search, a black plastic bag was found in the roof of Craigg’s house. The bag contained the firearm.

Further searches conducted found a black plastic bag in Craigg’s yard, which contained the marijuana.
