Georgetown man caught with firearm

David Mapp will learn his fate today when he reappears at the Serious Offences Court to answer gun and ammunition charges.{{more}}

Mapp, a resident of Chester Cottage, appeared in court on Monday, July 12, and pleaded guilty to having a .22 revolver and six rounds of .22 ammunition on July 10, 2010, at Chester Cottage.

The one armed man also pleaded guilty to escaping police custody at Georgetown and making threatening language to a police officer.

The court was told that he threatened to kill the police officer when he gets out of jail.

Chief Magistrate Sonya Young presided over the matter.
