Bacchus – ‘Que Pasa’ to take the stand

Defense lawyer Kay Bacchus-Browne has signalled her intentions to call Anthony “Que Pasa” Gellizeau and Commissioner of Police Keith Miller to testify{{more}}in the Elwardo “EG” Lynch matter, whether or not they are called by the prosecution.

Bacchus-Browne made the disclosure on Thursday, July 1, at the Serious Offences Court, shortly before Chief Magistrate Sonya Young gave a final adjournment on the matter. The case will resume on October 7.

Lynch, radio announcer of the popular “New Times” political talk, show is charged with making statements likely to cause fear and alarm.

When the case resumed for hearing last Thursday, Director of Public Prosecution Colin Williams was not present in court. Bacchus-Browne then made a cellular phone call and informed the court that Williams was involved in a matter at the High Court.

Upon hearing the development, Magistrate Young said she was growing tired of breaking the case and would not be doing so anymore.

“Whatever happens is final for me. I am not going through this again,” Magistrate Young stated firmly.
