Williams, a labourer of Campden Park, was sentenced to nine months in jail on Tuesday at the Kingstown Magistrateâs Court after he pleaded guilty to a wounding charge.
The court heard that on February 2, 2010, at about 8:30 p.m, the virtual complainant was at a beauty salon having his hair braided when Williams came and made threatening comments to him.
Williams then drew a cutlass and began firing chops in the direction of the man. Luckily the victim managed to escape through a door, but not before receiving a chop over his eyes. The chop also left a piece of the bone on his forehead exposed.
Before sentencing, Williams explained to the court that the virtual complainant had owed him money from a job. Williams claimed that he was attacked first with the same cutlass he used to chop the virtual complainant.(KW)
