Duo charged with gun, ammo, cannabis possession

Two young women were brought before the Serious Offences Court to answer gun, ammunition and marijuana charges.{{more}}

Latoya Fredericks, a nineteen-year-old student of Barrouallie, and twenty two-year-old Keishell Patterson of Layou appeared in court on Monday, November 16.

They were jointly charged with having in their possession 5,448 grams of cannabis with intent to supply, the possession of one Smith and Wesson revolver without a license and the possession of two rounds of .38 special ammunition without a license.

The women pleaded not guilty to all charges and they were remanded in custody until Monday, November 23, 2009 at which time bail will be reconsidered. Police are carrying out further investigations.(OS)
