Layou man pleads not guilty to 10 charges
A Layou resident is facing charges of creating and using false cheques worth over $6,000.{{more}}
Udorick Watson faced a total of ten charges when he appeared at the Serious Offences Court on Tuesday September 22, 2009.
Watson was charged with making National Commercial Bank false cheques in the name of KCâs Mobile Shop, valued $980, $2775.50 and $2775.50 each. He was charged separately for using the cheques to induce Shelly-Ann James of Green Hill and Aliene James of Clare Valley. The offences occurred between September 4 and 14, 2009.
He was further charged with stealing a Compaq laptop computer valued $1000 and one National Commercial Bank cheque book and one Island Distributors cheque book valued $320 in total, the property of Fidel Taylor of Layou. These offences occurred between April 20 and 30 and the month of July. Watson pleaded not guilty to all offences.
Watson was granted bail of $12,000 when he appeared at court. He was ordered to surrender all travel documents and report every Monday and Friday to the Layou Police Station, between 6am and 6pm. The matter was adjourned to November 20, 2009.
