Sharpes man survives gun attack

A 25-year-old Redemption Sharpes man is lucky to be alive, following a shooting which took place in that area over the weekend. {{more}}

Elson Richards is recovering from gunshot wounds received to both legs on Friday, June 26, while at a shop.

Police indicate that around 9:45pm, Richards was sitting in the shop when a masked man entered and started spraying the shop with bullets. When the dust settled, Richards was left with bullet wounds in both legs. SEARCHLIGHT also understands that Richards was somehow able to make it to the shop’s main door, where he saw his assailant and two others running away.

Investigations are continuing into the matter.
