$12,000 bail for gun

This was the condition under which he was granted $12,000 bail with one surety on Tuesday at the Serious Offences Court.{{more}}

Welcome had been charged with having in his possession seven rounds of .25 ammunition, a .25 semi automatic pistol and four pounds of Cannabis.

The Layou resident pleaded not guilty to all three charges.

Police Prosecutor Inspector Butcher argued that the accused should not be granted bail, as he feared that Welcome would abscond. Butcher stated that the number of firearm cases that are heard at the court on a weekly basis is of serious concern. Welcome was released from Her Majesty’s Prisons last year after serving fourteen years.
