Samuel was jointly charged with Barbadian Herwin Burrows. The prosecution offered no evidence against Burrows after he pleaded not guilty to the charge.
Members of the Narcotics squad went to the defendantâs home to execute a search warrant around 11am. During the search, a white plastic bag containing the cannabis was found in a stove.
Samuelâs lawyer, Grant Connell said that his client is a mother of three who made a silly move. Connell further stated that Samuel was only to hold the drugs for someone at the time and she ended up paying the price. The young lawyer begged Chief Magistrate Sonya Young to have leniency on Samuel. âThis will give her a chance to walk the straight and narrow path that she was walking before this,â Connell continued.(KW)
