Suspect held for Lotto robbery

Police think they have made a break through by nabbing a suspect in the recent Lotto Booth robbery in Georgetown.{{more}}

Appearing in court on Monday was 20-year-old Des-Angus Glasgow a labourer of Georgetown who was not required to plea to the indictable charge.

He was denied bail and remanded to her Majesty’s Prison for the next two weeks during which time the police will conclude their investigations into the matter.

SEARCHLIGHT reported last week that around 8pm, Uackea Spring, cashier of Spring Village, Georgetown was about to close the booth when a masked man entered the business place armed with an object and demanded the money from Spring. The robber managed to flee the scene with $1034.

The matter was adjourned to August 11 for Preliminary Inquiry.
