Samuel John pleaded not guilty to having in his possession one .35 special revolver, a .38 revolver, 11 rounds of .38 ammunition and one round of .357 magnum ammunition at Campden Park on July 24, 2008.
Prosecutor Station Sergeant Nigel Butcher had objected to Johnâs bail on the grounds that the matter was a serious one and that he would abscond once given bail.
Johnâs counsel Ronald Marks said that his client is a man of good character and the facts surrounding the charge were that the guns were found under the seat of the second person in a car which John had been driving.
Marks also noted that the person who was sitting in the seat where the guns were found fled the scene and that the police are still on the hunt for him. He added that his client was only hired as a driver and that he is willing to assist the police in anyway possible.
The matter was adjourned to September 26 for hearing.
