Robinson gets two years for discharging firearm

Seconds after he begged the Chief Magistrate to spare him from prison, Uroy Robinson took pleasure in the fact that his worst nightmare was now a reality.{{more}}

Robinson, 20, of Evesham, was sentenced to two years imprisonment after he pleaded guilty to discharging a firearm in Redemption Sharpes on March 30, 2008.

“Alyo kno me go appeal this, me nar fret, me going get me weed fo smoke round dere and we blinging,” he stated with a loud laughter.

The evidence revealed that at approximately 8:40 p.m on March 30, Police Officer Julian Morgan was in the Sharpes area when he saw Robinson pull a gun from his waist and open fire in the direction where another man was standing at the roadside.

It was also revealed that Robinson was in possession of a shotgun, and was dressed in black.

While seated on the prisoners’ bench, Robinson verbally attacked Prosecutor Station Sergeant Nigel Butcher. “Butcher, you will never better, never I tell you, me na shoot nobody,” Robinson stated. He even said that he was goin to “call ah shot” on officer Morgan. He then retracted his statement saying that he meant by calling a shot, that he was going to appeal his conviction in the High Court.

He even said that, “Me glad me going round jail. Only God can judge me. Me forget to tell the Magistrate so.” The young lad also boldy stated that: “Me ah go dead in ah dis, me never shoot nobody yet, me wish me coulda shoot dem,” Robinson ended.
