Two years for weed

Police seized over 14 pounds of cannabis on June 18, 2008, and as a result one man is now behind bars serving a two-year sentence.{{more}}

Chief Magistrate Sonya Young slapped 42-year-old Brenton Robertson with the custodial sentenced after he pleaded guilty at the Serious Offences Court on Thursday, June 19.

In addition to two-year sentence, he was sentenced to a further four months for having two grams of cocaine in his possession.

The Court heard that police officers went to the defendant’s home in Fitz Hughes to execute a search warrant in respect of drugs and found the controlled substance during the search.
