Miguel: ‘Officer is my plant ah dem’
Kazambe Miguel, a worker in the Ministry of Agriculture, was fined $350 for cultivating two cannabis plants.{{more}}
The dreadlocked man pleaded guilty to the charge when he appeared at the Serious Offences Court last Friday. He was given two days to pay the fine or spend three months in prison.
Reports state that members of the Rapid Response Unit and Drug Squad went to the home of the defendantâs mother to execute a search warrant in respect of controlled drugs.
It was further stated that the officers went into the garden and found two buckets with the illegal plants.
Miguel was cautioned and replied, âOfficer is my plant ah dem. Is weed dem be.â
