SVG records 36 homicides in 2007

The year 2007 marked an all time high for this country with the greatest number of homicides being recorded – 36.

Figures from the Criminal Investigations Department show that of that number, 24 of the homicides were solved, resulting in a 66% solve rate.{{more}}

22 of those suspects were arrested and charged, while two of the assailants committed suicide.

Over 296 cases are still pending before the Serious Offences and Magistrates Courts.

433 persons were convicted for the year.(KW)
