Chief Magistrate Simone Churaman slapped Richards with the custodial sentence last Thursday when he appeared at the Serious Offences Court and pleaded guilty to the charge.

Richards, 28, a labourer from Arnos Vale was arrested and charged with having a nine-millimeter pistol in his possession on July 27, at Fitz Hughes.

Police met Richards in the public road. During a search, they found the weapon in his waist. When cautioned by the officers Richards replied, “Ah find me find it, and ah was to take it to a man.” (KW)
