Bajan fugitive suspected of murdering Vincy
Five months after 22-year-old labourer, Sean Baptiste died from a single gunshot wound to the left side of his chest, police have finally nabbed the man who is suspected of being Baptisteâs killer.{{more}}
On Emancipation day, Anderson âAndyâ Antonio Williams, a Barbadian fugitive who has been in the country since last year was arrested and charged with Baptisteâs murder.
Williams appeared before the Kingstown Magistrateâs Court on Monday and was remanded to her Majestyâs Prison. The matter was adjourned to September 24 when the Preliminary Inquiry will be held.
According to reports by Police, at about 9.15 a.m. on March 1, 2007, Baptiste had an altercation with a man while standing in the public road at Ottley Hall. He was shot during the altercation.
Baptiste was taken to the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries. He was this countryâs third gunshot victim and fourth homicide.
Williams was caught on August 1st with the help of Chateaubelair villagers while he was trying to avert capture.
Williams is also wanted in Barbados in connection with four murders and a spate of armed robberies.
Police confirmed to SEARCHLIGHT that Williams has admitted to two of the murders in Barbados.(KW)
