Both men were charged with robbing Niron Browne, 44, a mason of Arnos Vale around 10:30 p.m. on June 15, 2007. They were remanded until July 12 for a bail review.
On Monday, the Serious Offences Court heard that Browne had been accompanying someone home when a vehicle pulled up behind him. Two men alighted from the vehicle and demanded items from Browne. Browne was reluctant to comply, and he was shot in his leg. Browne was relieved of one gold chain valued at $800 and a Sony Ericsson cellular phone valued at $1500.
Browne is now receiving medical treatment in England and according to court reports, there is a strong possibility he might lose his leg.
Browneâs shooting is one of three that occurred over the past two weeks. One shooting saw a taxi driver being shot in his chest and one young man from Georgetown losing his life.
