Lucian man charged with cannabis possession

Moses Charles, 44 of Castries St Lucia was remanded to her Majestyâs Prison by Chief Magistrate Simone Churaman last Thursday after he pleaded not guilty to having 32688 grams (72 pounds) of cannabis in his possession at Copperhole in vicinity of the Falls of Baliene.
Information given to the court stated the Local Coast Guard acted on information and went ashore where the defendant was. Moses was met in a shack and when he saw the police he ran. He was subsequently apprehended and charged.
The court heard that Moses admitted to the police the drugs belonged to him. $3000 was also found in his possession.
