German youth charged $100 for a stick of cannabis
A 19 year-old German national was fined $100 at the Serious Offences Court on Tuesday after pleading guilty to possession of one bomb of cannabis on April 8, 2007.{{more}}
Benjamin Brookhoff, who came to these shores with his parents on cruise line âAIDAâ disembarked the ship about 1 p.m. and went to the Harbour Club area. Criminal Investigation Department (CID) officers on mobile patrol in the area spotted the defendant, who appeared to be acting suspiciously.
The officers approached Brookhoff and requested a search on him and found the cannabis in his right front pants pocket. The officers cautioned him and he told them that he bought it from a man. He was then arrested and charged.
Brookhoff apologised to the court for his actions.
