Two arrested for possession,
Persons should exercise great caution, as there seems to be counterfeit currency in circulation.
On Monday at the Serious Offences Court, Desron McBarnett, 22, farmer of Owia pleaded not guilty to delivering counterfeit US $2000 to Tabia Matthews, teller of Paul Over on March 29, 2007 at Kingstown. He was arrested and charged on March 30.{{more}}
Meanwhile, June James, 35, postmistress of Level Gardens was arrested and charged on March 30 for having counterfeit US$5000 in her possession on March 29 at about 1:55 p.m. at Kingstown. She too pleaded not guilty to the charge.
Both matters were adjourned to April 6, 2007 when their cases are set to be heard.
