Pipey gets Life for the murder of Lynch
On Monday at the High Court in Kingstown, Justice Gertel Thom handed Julius âPipeyâ John a sentence of life imprisonment after a 12 member jury found him guilty on March 13, 2007 for the October 30, 2004 murder of 31-year-old fisherman Algernon âBabyâ Lynch of Texier Road, Layou.{{more}}
Lynch fell victim to a gunshot wound to his chest inflicted while he was attending a party that was taking place in the area. It was said that Lynch got into an altercation with some other people at the function and was seen running before he met his demise.
Eye witnesses stated that he tried holding onto a fence, then walked in front of Ideen Pattersonâs gateway, fell into the gutter and died. Lawyer Ronald Marks represented John in the case, while Acting Director of Public Prosecutions, Colin Williams led the crownâs case.
