The Court heard that at about 3:45 p.m. the defendant arrived in Canouan on motor vessel Barracuda. Acting on certain information, police went to the vessel in search of Stowe. Apparently recognising the police officers, Stowe tried to jump over the vessel but was nabbed before doing so.

A search carried out on the bag which he was carrying, revealed the marijuana substance along with the cocaine.

Five hundred dollars for the cannabis was paid forthwith by Stowe’s girlfriend.
