Williams charged $7500 for possession of marijuna
Chief Magistrate Simone Churaman fined St Clair Williams $7500 on Monday at the Serious Offences Court after he admitted to the court that a woman gave him a quantity of marijuana to carry for someone.
The Belair labourer did not waste the courtâs time and pled guilty to the charge. He was given until May 31 to pay the fine or go to prison for nine months.{{more}}
The court heard that Saturday February 17 at about 7.10 p.m. acting on information, police officers went to the leeward bus terminal where the defendant was seen exiting the terminal with two bags. The officers approached Williams and requested a search on him and the bags.
One of the bags contained taped packages of the illegal plant substance. He was cautioned and told officers, âIs ah woman gimme de weed to carry fo someone.â
