The Court heard that on September 10, 2006 members of the drug squad went to Cane Garden to execute a search warrant at the home of Janice Cottle for control drugs. George was found in the basement and consented to a search by the police who found a transparent plastic bag containing a substance resembling cannabis under his mattress. When cautioned, he reportedly replied: “Officer the weed belongs to me.”
