Francois off to high court
Murder accused Turnley Francois, a 24-year-old labourer of Layou, who was charged with the December 26 2005 murder of 20-year-old Jeffery James of the same address, is slated for trial in the High Court. {{more}}
At the Preliminary Inquiry last Wednesday at the Serious Offences Court, Chief Magistrate Simone Churaman found that there was sufficient evidence to take the matter to the High Court.
James was stabbed in the chest and back after a dispute with Francois outside a popular nightspot in Layou. A date is yet to be determined for the hearing in the High Court. Counsel Steven Williams, represented the accused. Prosecutor was Sergeant Nigel Butcher.
