King was arrested on Saturday February 11 while walking along the Diamond public road with a knapsack on his back. Members of the Rapid Response Unit (RRU) who were on Vehicular patrol in the area, saw the defendant walking along the road. When he saw the police patrol, he increased his pace. He was subsequently caught. He was searched, and the cannabis was found on him.

When the young man appeared before Chief Magistrate Simone Churaman at the Serious Offences Court in Kingstown last Monday, he pleaded guilty to the offence.
