Businessman gets four years for gun, ammunition

A businessman of Bottom Questelles was sentenced to four years imprisonment for possession of one unlicensed .25 automatic pistol and five rounds of ammunition.

44 -year -old Doril Williams was arrested last year at London, Sandy Bay.{{more}}

It was reported to the court, that on December 8 2005, a motor vehicle occupied by Williams and three other persons was stopped and searched by the Rapid Response Unit. During the search, the weapon was found in Williams’ right front pocket. He entered a not guilty plea when charged.

He was found guilty of the offence last Monday afternoon when his case came before the Serious Offences Court. He received three years for the pistol and one year for the ammunition, however his sentences are to run concurrently.
