Bacchus pleads for Foye
The name Selwyn ‘Kashie’ Foye seems to be popular in some judicial circles. He faces the serious charge of murder, which Director of Public Prosecutions, Colin Williams intends to deal with. The charge is in relation to the murder of Percy Browne. He died of gunshot wounds at Carriere on October 2, 2004.
The accused is also charged with aggravated burglary and rape, stemming from an incident at Cane End on February 3, 2003. {{more}}
Foye is accused of entering Decima John’s residence armed with a gun and a knife.
He also faces a second count of rape of Decima John who was shot in mysterious circumstances on July 7, 2004. Her death remains a mystery to the constabulary.
Lawyer Kay Bacchus-Browne is representing Foye.
She expressed concern about matters in the Assizes and wanted clarification as to which would be given priority.
She noted that the rape and burglary charges had been traversed three times.
Justice Frederick Bruce-Lyle was also concerned about the prejudicial effect of the double appearances.
Director of Public Prosecution, Colin Williams assured the court that the murder trial would be the one getting the court’s attention.
