South Rivers woman to pay $125 for theft
Ashakka Gerald of South Rivers was fined $125 forthwith or spend one month at her Majesty’s Prison.
This was the fine handed down by Senior Magistrate, Carl Joseph last Monday as she appeared before the Magistrate’s Court in Kingstown.{{more}}
The court stated that, earlier this year, the accused had entered Jax Enterprises Ltd from where she stole a quantity of items valued at $190.65.
A security guard noticed that she pushed the items in her bag and continued to walk about the store as if nothing happened. She then proceeded outside where she was immediately apprehended.
In her testimony to the court, the defendant claimed a woman gave her the bag to hold in the store.
