Maloney in his evidence pleaded not guilty to the charges, while fellow villager Glasgow, standing alongside him in the same box told the court that Maloney is also guilty of the offense.

Maloney who claimed that he was not in Chateaubelair on January 5, 2005 where the drugs were sourced, said he was in Spring Village on the date in question and was called by his friends for a ride in a mini bus which was traveling to Kingstown.

Sergeant Adolphus Delpleche who cross-examined Maloney, asked him about the location of Spring Village and to identify something in that community. Maloney failed to respond positively.

It was at that point that the Sergeant concluded the accused was not telling the truth about his whereabouts.

The Police, acting on a tip-off, caught up with both Greggs men in Layou.
