Man gets five years for burglary
A man who burglarised a Cane Garden residence has been imprisoned by the High Court.
The court imposed a five-year sentence on Julian Lewis when he pleaded guilty at the start of the June sitting of the criminal assizes.{{more}}
Lewis was charged for entering the home of Mitchel Sanyoul on January 30, last year, and stealing a quantity of jewellery and other items valued over $1,700.
Sanyoul had secured his home that day and left for work. When he returned later that day, he realised his house was broken into and certain items were missing.
Lewis was apprehended and charged following investigations. He subsequently admitted to breaking into the house and stealing the items.
Lewis had previous convictions for crimes of dishonesty.
