Calder man wants custody of his son

Calder resident Cauldric Henry is calling on

the relevant authorities to help him gain custody of his son.

Henry explained to SEARCHLIGHT that for several years, he has been involved in what seems like a never-ending battle to be in the life of his three-year-old son.

He said the mother of the child uses the child as a bargaining chip, and if she can’t get her way, she withholds the child from him.

Henry explained that the child’s mother has three children with three different men and she took each of the men to court for child maintenance fees.

He said he pays the fee monthly, but he is convinced that the money is being used, not on his child, but to finance the lifestyle of the child’s mother and her boyfriend, who recently came out of prison.

Henry noted that when the boyfriend of his child’s mother was in prison, everything was fine, as the young lady would let him have the child anytime he pleased. He said now the man is out of prison, the tension has started all over again and he was recently wounded by the boyfriend.

“He beat me in my head down by the Family Court, after I just done pay the child support,” explained Henry, displaying the medical forms which were given to him by the police and which have been filled out by a doctor.

“I have a child with the girl, not the man, so I don’t see what he making decisions for my child and when I can see my child and when not. I want to get full custody of the child and he is almost three and not going to school,” said the irate father.

He said on occasions when he has made reports to the police, he was told that going to court is a waste of time, because he has a speech impediment that sees him at times stammering before being able to get across his point.

“A police officer tell me I can’t speak, and I will go court and hold up time and when I go to the higher police officers, that makes them (the junior officers) angry,” explained Henry.

“I want the child and to get more access to my child and the child always running to me. If he see me, he running to me; he knows me and he crying to come to me and she beating the child for wanting to come to me,” said Henry.

Henry claims he was threatened numerous times by his child’s mother and her boyfriend and he wants the melée to cease, as he is just concerned about getting the child out of what he thinks is an abusive situation.

He said he is getting ready to file for full custody of the child and hopes that the authorities take him seriously and assist him.(LC)
